AMD Sempron - 3 different sockets
AMD's recently announced Sempron will be offered in three different versions, Socket A, Socket 754 and Socket 939.
The initial AMD Sempron processors will be designed for Socket A and will contain the Athlon XP core. AMD plans to replace its existing Athlon XP processors with Sempron chips in Q3. Later in the same quarter the company is expected to launch Socket 754 Sempron processors, they are likely to feature a 32 bit Athlon 64 core. At the beginning of 2005 AMD is likely to release a third version of Sempron chips for Socket 939 mainboards.
