ATI and NVIDIA next generation GPU plans

Virtual Zone has picked up some information on ATI and NVIDIA's latest GPU plans at this week's Computex 2004 expo in Taiwan.

NVIDIA will offer its NV48 in two (AGP 8x and PCI Express) versions, and they could be out as soon as August. As expected they will have a higher core clock speed than the NV40/NV45 models, and they may be native PCI Express based cards, presumably with an HSI bridge for the AGP version.

ATI's RV410 and R480 will arrive sometime in Q3, and with a new product codenamed the R510 also mentioned by one ATI engineer. It looks like the relentless ATI/NVIDIA graphics battle is set to continue, for the time being anyway.
