Athlon FX-55 and A64 4000+
AMD has announced two new 130nm K8 Socket 939 chips. The Athlon FX-55 (clocked at 2.6GHz with 1 MB of L2 cache) becomes the company's flagship desktop processor. The FX-53, the processor it replaces, has become the Athlon 64 4000+ (clocked at 2.4GHz and with 1 MB L2 cache), with one noticeable difference, the multiplier now is locked.
