DisplayPort has been turned over to the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) for finalisation and approval as the replacement for the current VGA and DVI display interface standards. The new standard promises users more colours, higher resolutions, higher refresh rates, high quality audio support, and an optional content protection capability.
