Yesterday Elpida announced that development of its first next-generation DDR3 part had finished. The 512 Megabit, 1333Mbps, 90nm chip will go into production sometime next year. In order to achieve high speeds with relatively low power consumption, the firm has used dual gate transistors to address leakage issues.
