Sony announces 12X DVD burner
Sony Electronics said Monday that it will begin shipping a 12X internal DVD+R burner in July.
The DRU-540A dual format burner will be priced at about $180. Sony said that the new drive will be able to burn at 12X speeds on 8X media. The ATAPI drive also supports 8X DVD-R and 4X DVD+/-RW burning, as well as 40X CD-R and 24X CD-RW recording speeds.
